Welcome to the website of Community Basics, the parent organization of Hope for Our City and the Home to Home Project.
Community Basics Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. Specifically, our organization works in collaboration with the charitable organizations located in Kandiyohi County and the surrounding areas to provide basic essentials such as food and essential household items to families and individuals who are or have experienced extreme hardships, effects of a natural disaster, hunger, or homelessness. One of the main reasons Community Basics Inc. was formed was because there was a need for a centrally located place to house basic household items that had been donated to the various charitable agencies in the Willmar, Minnesota area. Another reason was we also wanted to provide food to the members of our community that would supplement and compliment the Kandiyohi county Food Shelf’s endeavors as well as help all people “make ends meet.”
